My Experience Using AI – The good, The bad.

Well we all know artificial intelligence is here and not going away. This post is my experience over the last year using GPT chat good and frustrating times with AI. I realize older people in their 60-70 plus do not understand this world, so hear to help.

So over the last year as said above I’ve been using Chat GPT quite a bit—some of it impressive, some of it frustrating, and some of it just plain confusing.

I also realise a lot of people, especially those in their 60s and 70s, don’t really understand what all the fuss is about. That’s fair enough. So this is my take, in plain English.

What is ChatGPT (in simple terms)

If you’ve never used it, ChatGPT is basically something you type a question into—and it gives you an answer.

I’ll give credit where it’s due—it can be very useful.

Things I’ve used it for:

  • Writing ideas for blog posts
  • Fixing wording when I get stuck
  • Explaining things I don’t understand
  • Helping with website setup

It’s like having someone there to bounce ideas off, without having to bother anyone. Like last year had a blood check and really was not happy with doctor saying all seems ok so gave gpt the pdf file and gosh it explained so much in detail why like yes need to take some iron tablets not anemic and also food I should think of eating as I do not eat much red meat anymore, so yes was really helpful even best iron tablets that should not make me constipated lol.

The Frustrating Side

Now here’s where it gets real. It’s not perfect. Not even close.

Sometimes it gives answers that sound good—but are wrong
Sometimes it overcomplicates simple things
Sometimes you have to ask the same thing 3 different ways

That’s when it starts to test your patience.

You think: “Just give me a straight answer…”

🧠 The reality (this is important)

Chat GPT is a tool. It’s not magic. It’s not always right. If you use it properly, it helps. If you rely on it blindly, it can lead you in the wrong direction.

If you’re in your 60s or 70s and thinking this is all too much—you’re not alone.

But here’s the truth: You don’t need to understand everything. Just start simple: Ask basic questions Use it for small tasks Don’t overthink it
